When giving gifts one should always look at perceived value over inherent value which is to say that while the macallan is clearly a better experience for the palate to base your entire decision on only this fact would totally ignore the entire point of the gift giving custom.

Its been already said but the blue label is put on some sort of pedestal by consumers that are not into drinking whisky. All of these posts of peoples collections make me jealous. To someone who doesnt much care for single malts a johnny walker blue would probably be the holy grail so id just go with that.
